Eels on the River Brent

Volunteers are helping to monitor the passage of eels along the River Brent as part of a project for the Zoological Society of London. The Thames Rivers Trust, in cooperation with the Canal and River Trust and the Environment Agency, has installed three eel passes on the lower reaches of Brent at Brentford, Boston Manor, and Osterley. Eel numbers have severely declined since the 1980s, such that they are now classified as critically endangered.

Clean ups on the River Brent, and invasive species control

If you're a member of a residents' association or go to a school or college along the river please get in touch. Tell us about the river in your neighbourhood and how important it is to you. If you're fed up with all the rubbish littering the river or your riverside park or would like to see more wildlife along the river and more fish in the river, then get in touch.
