Elvers at Twickenham Academy

Elver passes are to be installed on three weirs on the lower section of the River Brent/Grand Union Canal. Returning from the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Pageant, the only steam-powered narrow boat in the world, 'President', paid a visit. 'President' was built at Saltley, Birmingham, in 1909 and was restored to steam power in the 1970s. She is owned by the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley near Birmingham, but spends the summer months touring around the country.
